2026/27 rates: Daily Living £76.70/week (standard) or £114.60/week (enhanced); Mobility £30.30/week (standard) or £80.00/week (enhanced). Maximum combined award is £194.60/week. PIP claims are currently taking around 16–20 weeks on average, but any award is backdated to the date of your first phone call to start the claim — not to when your form or assessment is finished, so it's worth calling as early as possible even if you expect the rest of the process to take a while.

PIP has two separate components — Daily Living and Mobility — each assessed independently and paid at either the standard or enhanced rate. Eligibility comes from a points-based assessment across 10 daily living activities and 2 mobility activities: 8 or more points in a component gets you the standard rate, 12 or more gets you enhanced. You can be awarded one component, both, or neither, and the rate for each is decided completely separately — a standard award on one doesn't limit what you can get on the other. This tool calculates your payment once you know (or want to estimate) your rate — it doesn't simulate the assessment itself, since that genuinely depends on your specific circumstances.
